CITE 2022: Conference Will Showcase IT Leadership and Newest

California IT in Education takes over the Long Beach (Calif.) Convention Center Tuesday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 2, for its annual conference. CITE 2022 promises new technology insights and ventures for IT leaders in education.

The event will feature general sessions as well as exclusive events that require registration in advance, such as Lunch-n-Learns, a DEI Breakfast and an IT Ninja Warrior competition.

Additionally, this year’s conference will benefit Girls Who Code, an organization working to close the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math careers.

With all the exciting possibilities — and only four days to see it all — attendees should plan ahead to get the most out of their event experience. Here’s a preview of what not to miss at CITE 2022:

Keynotes, Roundtables and Panels Offer Insights for IT Leaders

This year’s CITE conference will feature two prominent keynote speakers, each covering a trending topic in today’s education environment. Cybersecurity expert John Sileo will share his story of stolen identity and the importance of having a strong security strategy. Danielle Feinberg, visual effects supervisor at Pixar Animation Studios, will detail her experience as a woman in a male-dominated industry.

These topics of security and diversity in leadership are among the top themes attendees can expect to find at the event. Roundtables, such as one featuring women in IT, and other sessions will cover these topics throughout the week.

Other prevalent themes at CITE’s 2022 conference include esports and leadership skills, the latter aiming to provide actionable advice to current and aspiring IT professionals. Esports sessions, meanwhile, will showcase leaders in the California esports industry and help schools understand the research behind gaming as an educational activity.

Vendors Plan Ed Tech Demonstrations and After-Hours Socials

CITE 2022 will be the place to learn about new educational technologies primed to steal the spotlight in 2023 and beyond.

Vendors such as Promethean, Airtame, Lightspeed Systems and AWS Education will make their way to Long Beach for the event.

Attendees can preview Promethean’s ActivPanel 9, a next-generation interactive display, and Airtame’s new meeting tool, Airtame Hub with Airtame Rooms.

Lightspeed Systems and AWS Education are teaming up for a post-conference social for guests in the area who want to learn more after Wednesday’s sessions end.

Other vendors, companies and leaders will come together for next week’s event, and all of EdTech’s coverage will be available on our CITE event landing page.
